Cinnamon Bay Beach: Located in the pristine, Virgin Islands National Park. The campgrounds of Cinnamon Bay have their own beach, where forest rangers sometimes have to remind visitors to put their swim trunks back on. This is our particular favorite, a beautiful strip of white sand with hiking trails, great windsurfing, ruins, and wild donkeys (don't feed or pet them!). Changing rooms and showers are available, and you can rent watersports equipment. Snorkeling is especially popular; you'll often see big schools of purple triggerfish. This beach is best in the morning and at midday, as afternoons are likely to be windy. A marked nature trail, with signs identifying the flora, loops through a tropical forest on even turf before leading up to Centerline Road.with a full range of facilities and services, you can spend the day kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, diving or swimming through brilliant coral gardens with colorful marine life and tropical fish, making this bay a unique place to go for water activities and sports. camping in the Cinnamon Bay complex by the sea, offers a variety of tents, from bare sites, to comfortable cabins and cottages. Picnic tables, barbecue grills, a small grocery store, an on site restaurant, public phones, a message center, safe deposit boxes, lockers, restrooms, changing rooms and showers are located on the grounds.Kayaks, beach floats, sailboats and windsurfers are available for rental.You can also take windsurfing, and sailing lessons as well. One of the most beautiful beaches on St John, the amenities of bathrooms, showers, a small grocery store and restaurant, is a great added value. With more options in terms of concessions and facilities than the vast majority of St John beaches, this Bay, offers a lot of options (equipment and gear rental, wind surfing area) over and above the excellent snorkeling.When snorkeling, the formations further away from the beach become increasingly interesting and impressive, including some cave-like areas that the fish swim in and out of in droves. The beaches here are gorgeous, the wide stretches of sand make for great fun. The snorkeling is amazing.It is hard to beat the west end of the Bay. Crystal clear water, pure white sand and privacy, for that romantic walk on the beach.With a large sandy beach, clear, crystal waters, and Saint John's trademark fine snorkeling, this Bay is a must see. If gorgeous sand, and privacy is your thing, try Little Cinnamon, it is a secluded hideaway.One of the most beautiful beaches on this Caribbean island, Cinnamon Bay is well worth a lengthy visit.The Cinnamon Bay Self-Guided Trail, is an easy, shady trail, leading to the ruins of an old sugar factory. The loop also leads through an old Danish cemetery. Marked signs along the way identify the vegetation and explain some local history. The trail head is just east of the entrance road to the Cinnamon Bay Campground.Maho Bay Beach is immediately to the east of Cinnamon Bay, and it also borders campgrounds. As you lie on the sand, you can see a whole hillside of pitched tents. This is also a popular beach, often with the campers themselves.
