Gallows Point Resort: “An overall wonderful place”We stayed at Gallows Point because it came highly recommended by friends. We loved it! We were in 10C, an upper unit that is considered a harbor view but also gives you a wonderful view of the ocean. The room was not as updated as some of the others, but it was clean and decorated nicely. You can open up all of the windows and doors and get an amazing breeze and hear the ocean...which was amazing. The staff was great, especially the lady working in the little store. The store was nice for snacks and stuff for the room, but we really didn't need much since we were so close to town. The location of Gallows Point is perfect! It is a quick walk into town which saved money on cabs. We did not rent a car so being able to walk into town was key. Overall, we loved Gallows Point and it's location. 
Gallows Point Resort “Terrific location and staff - be wary of the noise on the harbor side”We stayed here for 4 days last week in Unit 11D, an Upper Level Harbor unit. We were very pleased with the hotel overall. Gallows Point Resort is located a three minute walk from downtown and is ultra-convenient to restaurants, activities, etc. You do not need a car if you stay here, but we still rented one for a few days. Upon check in, we did have a problem with housekeeping - we pulled back the covers on our bed and the sheets were all stained and disgusting. They sent someone right over to change them, but I was appalled that they would even have put them on in the first place. The rooms are great, ours wasn't updated, but was perfect for our needs. Having two bathrooms was great. We made breakfast in the room every day and found that we had everything we needed to do so. The pool is fantastic, as is snorkeling off the beach. Great spot for sunsets. Our only complaint was the noise on the harbor side. We heard ferries all night to midnight and starting again at 6am. The bar across the harbor had a band playing until 3am and we could hear it as though it was in the next room. Sound carries over the harbor. We understand this is not as bad on the ocean side, so we'd stay there next time. We were a bit disappointed that there was no fitness facility here, but this is a very laid back island. It's advertised that Gallows Point resort caters to adults and that children aren't advised, but we did find a lot of families that apparently didn't know this - not a big deal. This was our 5th trip to the island and we generally rent a villa with friends. We will definitely come back to Gallows Point Resort in the future. 
Gallows Point Resort “Perfect”This was 3rd year in a row in St John but first time in Gallows. Our room was in perfect condition, screens perfect on all windows, AC great. Pool was warm, hot tub hot and both clean. The ramp to the snorkeling was simple to use, lots of fish to see, and its nice to enter the ocean and immediately see fish without having to swim out to the reef or rocks. The convenience store was well stocked with friendly service. In fact the entire staff at Gallows from the front desk, security, general manager, and housekeeping was superlative. They were very friendly and helpful, from getting beach, chairs, towels, and just friendly chatting. The location is great because you can walk to all the restaurants, shops, bars. We felt very safe there at night. And the restaurant on premises, Zozo's, is first class. 
Gallows Point Resort “We loved it here..will almost definitely go back next trip to St. John”A really nice unit (13A), looking out at the harbor..quiet, clean, pretty (AC could have been a tad stronger, but I understand they try to conserve energy). Luxurious large shower, with good quality toiletries provided, king size comfy bed, nice staff. Location was perfect, a short (less than 10 minute) walk to town, with great little unique shops & a good variety of restaurants, also nice for just people watching in the town square or at the harbor. Decent little store on premises for a few necessities. Have heard the restaurant on site is great; we didn't try it this trip. Snorkeling at the resort beach was great, and we rented a jeep for a few days & explored- found some lovely beaches that we almost had to ourselves. The prices at the resort have gone up since our stay, making it a bit much for us, but we'd like to return if possible. One of our nicest vacations, no doubt about it.
