Westin Resort: “My Best Birthday Present Ever!!”My husband and I went to St John to celebrate my birthday this year. It was our first time in St. John. We fell in love with the island. We stayed at the Westin Resort for 4 nights. It is a beautiful resort! I can't say enough about the excellent service we received. The staff are the best! It is in a great location. Near to everything. We didn't even rent a car, because there was always a cab waiting outside the door to take you anywhere. I have to mention the grounds of the Westin. They are beautiful! Tropical plants everywhere. The pool was really something- beautiful fountains. The rooms are really lovely. Very clean. The restaurants there are very good. All of our meals were delicious. We especially liked one of the restaurants at the Westin where you ate outside on the beach with tiki torches lit. It was so romantic. We will definitely go back next year and I will not stay anywhere but the Westin. The only thing we will do different next year is stay longer!!!!
Westin Resort: “Beautiful Hotel and Extremely Friendly Service !!”I stayed at the Westin Resort last week and it was wonderful. Everyone there was extremely friendly, and we were upgraded to a pool side view. The pool is so beautiful. It is even better than the pictures. The beach is nice, but definitely take a cab to Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay those beaches are INCREDIBLE just like out of a picture perfect postcard! The beds at the Westin Resort are so comfy I could sleep in for days on end! Be careful, the rooms at the Westin can get pricey especially during peak season. And there is an extra $40 resort fee each night that is NOT shown when first booking the hotel with points. We took the public ferry because it was about 1/8 cheaper than the Westin Ferry. However, some people might find the Westin ferry more convenient if they plan on traveling to St. Thomas a lot during their stay. Also do NOT leave candy wrappers or food around your hotel room. Ants will appear but if you tell them they will spray the room ASAP or move you to another room. All in all, I had an amazing vacation here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who has the money. If you can get a great Starwood deal on it I would definitely come check it out.
“good overall experience, certainly worth the stay on points”
Stayed 4 nights in April using Starwood Points, and was pleasantly surprised. My teenagers had a connecting room with ours, which made it secure and easy to keep track of them. Staff was wonderfully attentive, room was fine, and the general tone of the resort was easy and pleasant. We had breakfast on food from the Mango Deli and the nearby St John market. Dinner at the beach club was disappointing one night and fine the next. We did rent a Jeep Wrangler and so were able to dine in town most nights. The grounds and pool were well-maintained and delightful. I was befriended by Maxine the parrot which was a wonderful experience. Overall I enjoyed the experience and felt that the stay was definitely worthwhile using Starwood points. I don't know if I would have felt as good if paying cash for the two rooms. We chose public transportation from the airport (minivan to the Red Hook ferry and cab to the hotel) because it was far cheaper for four people, and we happened to time it just right, no waiting for the ferry, and we arrived in about the same amount of time as the folks who took the Westin ferry.
